Great for my 10 month old Jul 21, 2010 I originally purchased this toy when my daughter was only 3.5 months old as her first Christmas present. She of course didn't know what to do with it but I would play the songs and sing along to them and make the puppy dance with the music and she enjoyed that. Now that she's older (almost 11 months now) she LOVES to sit and play with it by herself (or with Mommy or Daddy too). I've seen reviews about the pressure points being too sensitive but I think that's a good thing; even little babies can activate the toy and get enjoyment out of it. The songs are great, my daughter loves it when I sing along to them for her and when we're in the car I can sing them to her and cheer her up if she's getting anxious or upset (I have long since memorized them all). I think this is a great toy and a minimal investment for what I can see to be a toy with a lot of longevity.
This Doll is Evil Jul 16, 2010 This doll has a mind of its own. Because of that, I cannot recommend it.
One night (actually early morning, like 2am) while I was sleeping, this doll activated itself! It was the first time I had ever heard it and at the time, didn't know that it was this doll. Imagine how creepy it is to be in a deep sleep and all of a sudden, in a completely dark room, you are woken up by this doll saying "Peeakaboo, I see you!" Its like something out of a horror movie where a doll comes alive. I feel bad for any child who experiences this.
I have also found the comtrol buttons, which are underneath the pads on its paws, to be quite difficult to use and inaccurate. Pressing one button results in some unintended consequences.
Pass on this one.
So much more than I expected Jul 09, 2010 We bought this toy in the store for our 2-month-old and only saw a demo of what he could do. We have been so surprised at how many songs there are and how much the puppy can do. There are 2 modes, one for learning and the other for songs. Each of the hands, one of the feet, the tummy, the heart and an ear say/sing up to 3 different things in each mode. I know my son is young for the toy, but we've had it for almost 2 months now, and he is so intrigued by it - I think the blinking heart holds his interest. I'm learning lots of great educational songs as well. And I must say that the puppy's voice isn't as irritating to me as a lot of the interactive toys for children! I think this will be a toy he'll enjoy for several years still.
My 6 months old love it Jul 05, 2010 We got this laugh and learn puppy from a friend when my daughter was little over a month old. She is 6 months old now and love this puppy. She is just a sitter now and will start dancing in sitting position when we play the poems. She plays with this puppy and immediately stops crying if we turn this thing ON. Overall, I would recommend this to everyone.
fun songs and learning opportunities Jun 05, 2010 My son received this for his 1st birthday. He enjoyed it and played with it (with us singing along too) for about 20 minute stretches. We took it on a few airplanes with us as well b/c it's loud enough that you can hear it if it's close to you but the general noise of the plane drowns out the sound for other passengers. He is 2 now and still pulls this out to play with but it doesn't keep his interest as long anymore. We can still use it to teach colors but he knows the body parts. I would probably buy again and i think an 8-9 month old would be perfectly fine w/ this toy.
